Introduction:

     Advances in transportation and communication changed Britain in a lot of ways in the Victorian era. These advances made Britain the largest and most powerful trading nation in the world. The steam engine was the main advancement in transportation, seeing as how it started the idea of the steam train, which helped revolutionize transportation in Britain. The way the steam engine works is coal is burned; the heat that this coal produces is used to turn water into steam; this steam is used to turn the wheels in the engine.

Limitations: doesn’t tell us how science changed way of life. Or was the change fast or slow and it does not tell us how science changed the environment.

Value: talks about how Technology changed leisure in Victorian times in Britain. It talks about new technology like the steam press and how it affected other people and it also talks about sea side resorts.

Purpose: is to inform people how technology was in Britain in 1850
